My Top 5 Tips On Staying Healthy During December
it can be difficult to stay healthy over Christmas and New Year. Every weekend you have a party, the alcohol is flowing around the room. But today I wanted to share with you my top five tips on how to stay happy, fit and healthy throughout the next few weeks.
So my first tip, is to start the 80/20 rule. So eighty percent of the time, eat right and cook all of your meals. I would tend to do this during the week, so Monday to Friday. And then on the weekend I would treat yourself. Don’t go to crazy or insane, but treat yourself, have that mince pie, drink that glass of wine. But make sure on Monday you start fresh and healthy once again.
Exercise. Whether that’s walking your dog every day, or going to the gym three to four times a week. Or join that exercise class. I promise you will notice a difference. Whether that’s one hour a week, or 20 minutes every single day, you will start to notice and see a difference.
Water. Everyone talks about how amazing water is, and it is just as amazing. Its really important to make sure you stay hydrated. Also nine times out of ten, you think your hungry, you might actually be thirsty. So try to drink a glass of water before you eat, with every meal, first thing in the morning before you have breakfast.
If you struggle to drink water due to the taste, add some slices of lemons, limes, oranges. Then if you struggle to still drink water, go onto herbal teas. Herbal teas are really good for you, so if you struggle to drink just water. Try and have maybe four mugs of herbal tea.
Water can help keep you full, it can really help to keep your skin clear too!
My fourth tip, is to make your food. So if you are going to a party or hosting a party, make your food from scratch. Then you know exactly what you are eating, and you can end up then making food healthier. So that way you don’t have to worry about eating excess sugar, or fat. Finally my last tip is to sleep well. I know that this sounds strange. But if you don’t get enough sleep, you can become tired and stressed out. This can lead to picking the wrong foods to eat, or reaching for that microwave meal over a home cooked meal. Also if you don’t sleep well, you wont be inclined to exercise, or take care of yourself properly. So during the week, make sure you get at least eight hours sleep, that way you will feel, and your body and mind will work much better.
